Hello and welcome! My name is Aira and I am the founder of Kandila NZ. Kandila NZ is a representation of my background and culture. I knew from the beginning when I started this business that I wanted the name to represent something meaningful. Kandila is the direct translation of candle in Filipino (which is also derived from the Spanish word “candela”).  

 

I started this business because lighting candles became a part of my self-care routine since the pandemic started. However, I found out that manufactured candles which use soy blends didn't work for me and actually got allergic reactions to it.  

So to make sure that me and my household were safe from the harmful effects of manufactured candles, I opted to use environmentally friendly ingredients to make our candles, including natural soy wax, a cotton bag packaging, and phthalate free fragrance oils. Now, I get to share my creations with you. 

From having a scent to wake up to at the beginning of your day, to something to wind down to when having your "me" time, I've got you sorted.

I hope that these candles will also give you the sense of peace and calm you deserve after a long day.
